Scuffy the tugboat
We are docked on a tidal river- I think it’s the Saigon River- and you can see the brown river water meeting the ocean.
When the tide is going out the heavily laden scows are moored or struggle against the tide and currents
The parking lot is not MetLife Stadium- too many cars- but rather an import staging area for Mitsubishi and Volkswagen SUVs, even though HCMC is a city of scooters and motorbikes.
There are no road rules. Right turn on red without slowing; sidewalk if road is blocked; wrong way if more convenient.

Ho Chi Minh City and the rest of Viet Nam are very prosperous. After the breakup of the Soviet Union and the funding cutoff they apparently recognized that there was a better way. Modest police presence. Very different than when we were in Beijing. More about the city later.
